Edexcel GCSE Statistics is taken in Year 10 by Sets 1 and 2. Thus, the course is taught in a year and integrated into the GCSE Mathematics scheme of work.

There are two methods of assessment, one written examination paper and one piece of coursework, which is 25% of the marks. This piece also counts for 10% of the Mathematics GCSE.

There are 4 units: The Collection of Data; Processing, Representing and Analysing Data; Reasoning, Interpreting and Discussing Results; and Probability.

Statistics is an excellent support for any subject featuring data handling such as Biology and Business Studies. Additionally, it provides valuable ground work for A Level Mathematics.
