In Year 9, girls have the option to study Spanish as a third language.
Girls study the Edexcel course. It aims to test how well candidates could cope as a tourist or guest in Spain. All examination tasks will be set in authentic situations they might encounter. They take four examinations in Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing, all of which carry equal weighting. For Spanish, this final Writing examination has been replaced by coursework.
The department is pleased to be introducing AS Spanish by video-conferencing. The girls concerned will follow the WJEC course.
