Philosophy of Religion and Religious Ethics

At AS and A2 , the department offers the Edexcel course in Philosophy of Religion and Religious Ethics.  Philosophy of religion focuses on philosophical arguments for the existence of God, such as the design argument, followed by a study of the problems in philosophy of religion such as the problem of evil. The ethical concepts studied include utilitarianism, and the relationship between religion and morality, followed by an investigation of ethical dilemmas, namely, in sexual ethics.

Students learn in a variety of ways, including joining in debates, creating presentations, making up plays, reading articles, completing ICT tasks, watching videos and writing essays. Lessons are designed to be challenging and enjoyable, whilst being a valuable learning experience.
