"This is an outstanding school"
Ofsted 2007
Headteacher: Mrs Judith Carlisle
At Dover Grammar School for Girls our purpose is to inspire academic excellence and personal fulfilment in a forward-looking community by ensuring a high quality of teaching and learning in a vibrant environment.
We encourage and expect high standards and success, and foster a sense of responsibility for self and others. We encourage all girls to contribute to the school, local and global community. Our aim is that girls leave school as thoughtful, well-qualified and ambitious young women, ready to make a significant contribution wherever their futures may take them.
Before entering the school, every girl will be visited in her Primary School and all new pupils will spend a day with us sampling lessons and meeting form tutors in early July. Induction time at the beginning of the Autumn Term, together with continued support and guidance from the form tutors and the Student Development Team, ensures a smooth transition from the primary to the secondary school experience.
We are delighted to announce that, as of September 2007, we are now a Specialist Humanities College.
